Lynn Hardy

 

Lynn has now been with Hospice for 6 years, most recently as Board President.  Working in the financial field for 22 years, Lynn’s current position is a Wealth Management Consultant with RBC Securities.  A Cobourg resident, Lynn is active in Several Volunteer roles, including a member of the Cobourg Rotary, Chair of the Cobourg and District Public Library Foundation, Board Member of the Trent University Foundation, a Board Member of the Vintage Film Festival and a Board Member of the Northumberland Hills Hospital Foundation.  Lynn enjoys spare time with animals, music, sports and reading.


Ron J. Watters

 

Ron is a retired businessman and equestrian farmer.  Before retiring, he operated with a partner Canadian Bonded Credits Lt’d., Metropolitan Credit Bureau and continues to operate Kingsbrook Farms Lt’d, a private equity company.  He had been a member of the Government Operations Committee for the Canadian Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Ontario Government Commercial Registration Appeal Tribunal.  Ron moved to the Grafton area from Kleinburg 13 years ago.  Ron has been a client of Hospice Northumberland – he has taken the palliative training program and is currently a Hospice client care volunteer.


Bill Andrus

 

Bill has been a client service volunteer for four years with Hospice as well as a Board and Committee member for one year.  A Port Hope resident, Bill has been an employee with Scotiabank for more than 27 years in the IT and Program Management areas.  Bill’s volunteer activities include sharing time with Community Care, Boy Scouts and the schools Parent Council.


York Bell-Smith

 

York has been part of the Hospice team as a client service volunteer for two years and a Board Member for a year.  A resident of Cobourg, York currently works for Pineridge Broadcasting (Star 93.3 and 107.9 The Breeze) as the Promotions Director.  York has previous Board experience as a Director with the Kinsmen Club of Peterborough.


Cathy Galt

 

Cathy has been a member with the Hospice Special Events Committee for four years and has been the coordinator of “Brighton Your Summer Fashion Show.”  Cathy owned and operated an insurance company, M. Catherine Galt Co-operators Insurance, Colborne; however she now resides on her hobby farm in Salem.


Peter Chilibeck

 

Peter joined the Hospice volunteer team in September 2006 as a committee member, and then in April 2007 as a Board member.  He has an extensive background practicing law for more than 23 years, including his current role as Managing Director with Llewellin Capital, previous senior leadership and counsel roles with Imax Corporation, Northern Telecom and Falconbridge Limited, and as a lawyer with the Goodmans law firm in Toronto.  A resident of Cramahe Township, Peter is active with the Colborne Rotary Club, the Cramahe Township Roads Advisory Committee and a Director of Lakefront Utility Services.

Penny Harris

 

Penny has been volunteering with Hospice since 2004 as both a client care volunteer and a Board Member.  Her most recent Director portfolio has been as chairperson of the Outreach Committee.  Prior to retirement, Penny has been a high school teacher, tour guide with the Royal Ontario Museum and a participant on numerous community committees.  Now a resident of Port Hope, Penny also volunteers as a Board Member with the Architectural Conservancy of Ontario.


Linda Janzen

 

Linda is new to Hospice and has lived in Northumberland County since 2005.  A Cobourg resident, she is the Executive Director of Northumberland Services for Women.  Linda brings a strong interest in grief and bereavement.  She was the Professional Consultant for Bereaved Families of Ontario in Hamilton and Burlington; and had a clinical practice working with clients who were experiencing traumatic grief.  Her Ph.D. is focused in grief and bereavement.  Linda has also been a Board Member with MADD Canada and Canadian Mental Health, Halton.

Cheryl Storey

 

Cheryl is the Caregiver Support Coordinator for Community Care Northumberland.  She is also the owner of Angels’ Attic Yoga and Reiki Studio in Brighton where she teaches yoga, meditation and creative stress management.  Cheryl has a Masters Degree in Sociology and is certified as a yoga teacher and as a natural health consultant.  Cheryl has been a Board Member with Hospice for the past two years.


Suzanne Grew Ellis

 

Suzanne has spent most of her life with T.V. Ontario, coordinating advice from regional and francophone Volunteer Councils regarding T.V.O.’s programs and services.  After moving to Cobourg in 1988, Suzanne worked with CFMX on a Sunday Music Program as well as work with several advertisement projects.  In 2002, Suzanne was named Cobourg’s “Outstanding Volunteer” for her work with Beyond the Blue Box, Habitat for Humanity, Northumberland Services for Women, the Advisory Committee for the establishment of the Grafton Recovery Service and for Hospice.

 

Edward Denning

 

Edward has recently joined our team as the Chairperson of Fund Development. As owner of his own investment company, Edward brings a varied background in financial advising expertise, as well as a number of other business experiences. Edward has a number of other interests, including scuba, sailing, woodworking and cycling.
