Becoming a Donor
The services of Hospice are provided to anyone who needs care at no cost to the client. This is only possible due to the generosity of the public.
Our Call to Action: It is estimated that between 5 and 15% of Ontarians have access to hospice care. While 90% of Canadians wish to remain at home during the final stages of life, 75% of deaths happen in hospitals and long-term care facilities. 94% of Canadians feel they could not care for a dying loved one without outside support. Hospice can provide that essential support. With an increasing senior population in our area, combined with rural isolation, and with increasing geographical distances between family members, those dying have an increased risk of being alone when they most need comfort and support. Hospice Northumberland provides services to approximately 275 clients each year. This means that an estimated 825 individuals and their families are going without and could benefit from Hospice care each year in our local communities. As a donor to Hospice, you can join in the satisfaction and reward that comes from ensuring Hospice is able to help local individuals and families through a very difficult time. "As a regular donor, to Hospice, I am aware of the impact my contirbutions have on their clients. I have the flexibility to give in a variety of ways. Ultimately, I trust the organization to administer my donations effectively to make a difference in my community." There are a variety of methods for individuals, groups, clubs and corporations to make a contribution to support the clients of Hospice.
