Winter 2009 Activity Schedule
Bereavement/Grief Support Groups:
Men and women who are grieving the death of a love one are invited to attend an 8-week grief support group. Each session of the closed group will take place in a safe environment, where people can explore their feelings and concerns for two hours each week, guided by a trained facilitator.
Art Journaling for Children:
Through an 8-week program, children ages 9 to 11 years will be guided through a process to better understand their grief. These sessions will help to identify and understand their feelings, encourage them to find new ways to express their feelings with loved ones and to instil hope in a supportive environment.
Annual Memorial Service:
A non-denominational service that provides family members, caregivers and friends with an opportunity to remember, reflect and celebrate the lives of loved ones who have died. The service includes a reading of names as well as a
candle lighting ceremony.
Palliative Training Course:
A 30-hour training program designed for individuals interested in volunteering with Hospice.
